PART-TIME ADMINISTRATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSISTANT

The North Penn Water Authority in Lansdale, Pa is seeking a part-time Administration and Public Relations Assistant.  The ideal candidate is someone who has administrative skills and a basic knowledge of administrative procedures and public relations, and is willing to learn about social media and public relations as it pertains to a municipal water authority. Water is a vital resource and the person who fills this position will learn about the water industry and the role NPWA plays in the community and assist the APR Department with administrative and public relations responsibiltiies.   

This position will report to the Administration and Public Relations (APR) Manager. 

Essential Duties:     

  • Work with Administrative Assistants and Community Relations Coordinator on various administrative and public relations functions.
  • Assist with PR related duties such as drafting and editing social media posts, press releases and website updates; assist with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Assist with educational presentation preparation and research.
  • Monitor media for NPWA and water related news and events.
  • Clean out 5- and 10-gallon Igloo containers for various events.   

Requirements:  

  • Administrative skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • A basic understanding of public relations, its purposes and tools.
  • A positive, can-do attitude
  • Self-motivated
  • Solid writing and grammar skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • PowerPoint presentation experience a plus
  • Social Media experience for a company a plus

 

Hours: Part time - 15 hours/week, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
