NPWA TO BEGIN WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT ON CANNON AVENUE, LANSDALE BOROUGHJanuary 27, 2017Lansdale, PA—January 27, 2017-- North Penn Water Authority will commence work on a main replacement project on Cannon Avenue in Lansdale Borough between Mill Street and West 5th Street. Work will begin on or about Monday, January 30, 2017. The Authority is replacing 1,200 feet of aged 4-inch and 6-inch cast iron pipe with new 8-inch ductile iron water main. The new water main will enhance service to customers and significantly improve fire protection in the area. During the hours of work from 7AM-4PM the road will be closed to facilitate the efficient and safe installation of the water main. There will be a detour in effect when the road is closed. The road will be reopened every day after construction is halted. Please consider alternate routes to avoid the area. Construction will be completed in approximately 3 weeks, weather permitting, with final road restoration occurring in early Spring when the weather improves. When there is not construction on Cannon Avenue the road will be open. This project is part of the Authority’s $4,000,000 earmarked specifically for water main improvements in 2017. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the community as we work diligently to improve water service and fire flow in the Borough. |
