Ami Tarburton, NPWA Finance Director, Appointed to PLGIT Board of Trustees
Lansdale, Pa.—Oct. 22, 2024 – North Penn Water Authority (NPWA) is proud to announce that Ami Tarburton, Director of Finance & Human Resources at NPWA, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust (PLGIT). PLGIT, a premier financial services organization, provides investment options for local governments, authorities, and municipal entities across Pennsylvania.
Tarburton brings over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting in both the public and private sectors and is also currently the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of Pennsylvania.
As a member of the PLGIT Board of Trustees, Tarburton will help guide strategic decisions that benefit local government entities and strengthen community infrastructure across the Commonwealth, as well as oversee the assets of the Trust.
“Ami has been a valuable asset to North Penn Water Authority, and we know she will bring the same dedication and expertise to the PLGIT Board,” said NPWA Executive Director, Anthony Bellitto, Jr.
“We are thrilled to see Ami appointed to the PLGIT Board of Trustees,” said Doug Billheimer, Executive Director of Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association (PMAA). “This is a well-deserved recognition of her leadership and expertise in our industry.” PMAA is a sponsoring organization of PLGIT, and of which both NPWA and Tarburton are members.
Tarburton, when asked about the appointment, said, “I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve on the PLGIT Board of Trustees. I look forward to contributing my skills and insights alongside my fellow trustees as we strive to create lasting value and foster growth for Pennsylvania local government stakeholders.”
The Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust (PLGIT) was established in 1981 and is designed to provide local governments and school districts with investment and banking services. It has grown to manage over $7 billion in public funds, assisting municipalities in meeting their financial goals while maintaining safety and liquidity.
