North Penn Water Authority Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Open House on September 18

Lansdale, Pa—August 18, 2025—In honor of 60 years of serving its customers, North Penn Water Authority (NPWA) is inviting the community to an Open House event to celebrate this momentous occasion on Thursday, September 18 from 3 pm to 7 pm (rain date September 19) at the NPWA Operations Center located at 300 Forty Foot Road in Towamencin.

The public is invited to NPWA’s Operations Center, view highlights of the past 60 years and see demonstrations related to NPWA’s water system, including valve turning, leak detection, how a fire hydrant works and how customer meters are read.

This family-friendly event will include free light refreshments including hot dogs, popcorn, soft pretzels, and an ice cream truck and a celebratory cake to be cut to mark the occasion.  To entertain the kids, a face painter and balloon artist will also be on site, as well as a moon bounce, obstacle course, and plenty of trucks and equipment.

There will also be fun NPWA giveaways, including our Refill from the Tap water bottle, a stainless steel, double-walled insulated water bottle that will keep water cold for hours. Refill from the Tap is a campaign launched back in 2015 aimed at reducing plastic waste from going into landfills while saving customers money.

At 5:30 pm, a number of local, state and federal elected officials will honor the Authority with certificates to mark the anniversary.

“This is a family-friendly event and we hope the community will join us in celebrating this milestone and see first-hand how far the water system has come over the last 60 years,” said Anthony J. Bellitto, Jr., P.E., executive director of NPWA. “
