West Rockhill Transmission Main Project
General Project Overview and Background:
Project: West Rockhill Transmission Main Project,
North Penn Water Authority (NPWA) will begin the construction of a new 12” water main on Ridge Road, beginning at County Line Road heading East to Almont Road and Rt. 309 in West Rockhill Township on or about February 3, 2025.
Project Summary:
This new transmission water main is necessary to provide reliable and safe drinking water to our existing customers in Sellersville Borough and West Rockhill Township. The transmission main will increase capacity, improve water quality and provide fire protection to this corridor.
We anticipate the construction work for the water pipe to take approximately 9 months to complete, weather permitting. This work is being done in cooperation with West Rockhill Township and PennDOT.
Temporary trench restoration will immediately follow water main installation. Final restoration will be completed per PennDOT specifications.
Tentative Project Timeline (will be updated weekly):
Week of 1/23/25 – begin staging and bore pits – No impact to travel on Ridge Road
Week of 2/3/25 – begin boring under route 309 – No impact to travel on Ridge Road
Week of 2/17/25 – begin water main installation on Almont Rd – No impact to travel on Ridge Road
March 2025 – begin water main installation on Ridge Road
July 2025 – substantial completion
September 2025 – final completion
Customer Impact:
In order to ensure the public and workers’ safety and to expedite the projects completion, the road will be closed to through traffic during the hours of work (9:00 am – 3:00 pm) and a detour will be in place.
At the end of each workday, the roadway will be open and traversable.
School buses, emergency vehicles and residents will have access to their homes, but may experience minor delays in some instances.
We will make every effort to keep unobstructed access open to local residents to the fullest extent possible.
We have notified the School District and your local emergency response units to assure they will have access and that your essential services are not interrupted.
For your protection, we have documented the property frontage of your curbs, sidewalks, blacktop, lawns and driveways to ensure that any damage that may be caused is restored to a condition that is at least equal to the current condition. All concrete, blacktop, or grassy areas that are dug up will be restored.
